The organic winery ouSyra was founded in 2015 by the Scottish Edward Maitland-Makgill-Crichton and his wife, Eillen Botsford- Velissaropoulou. it is located at the beautiful Greek Island of Cyclades, Siros. The name of the winery "OuSyra" was inspired by the Phoenician dialect and means "blissful".
Edward is an enthusiastic supporter of organic farming and his is planning to follow the steps of biodynamic in the near future.
Syros Island Serifiotiko grapes give this wine distinctive aromas of citrus fruit, well integrated alcohol and a dry refreshing aftertaste of Cycladic island minerality, which comes from its immediate proximity to the Aegean Sea.
Intense fresh summer fruits on the nose, sweet mature fruits in the mouth and a delicate unique aftertaste.
Its colour is pale yellow, while its aromatic bouquet reveals aromas of white flowers harmoniously complemented by notes of pear and green apple. The palate is fruity, with stone fruit, such as apricot and white fleshy peach, dominated by citrus notes. The aftertaste is long, floral complemented by a hint of "minerality".
