Ouzo, sea, sun along with friends is a Greek situation, always successful. The anethole of anise whets the appetite, alcohol elevates the mood, while the whole ritual favors sharing, talking and relaxing.
The high alcohol level, the sweet and intensively aromatic nature and its aggressive character must be accompanied by appetizers of the same intensity: salty, spicy, acidic, fried.
It is the most easy and simple invitation to prepare, since most of the appetizers are ready: cheese, olives, pickle, salt-cured fish, etc. What matters is the quality and the big variety of the viands.
Ouzo was born in Thessaly, around 1880. They used to distill tsipouro (a spirit like the Italian Grappa) for second time, adding aromatic seeds of anise in the copper stills. The heart of the first distillation, continues to a second distillation where the rest of the herbs are added according to the recipe of each distiller.
OUZO of Apostolakis Family is produced by the family business since 1954, following the same traditional, authentic recipe of the Thessalian distillers.
The passion for the choice of aromas from herbs and spices and the experience in traditional distillation methods, ensure the quality and create its unique flavor.
