MATEUS dates back to 1942, when Fernando Van Zeller Guedes created and launched a truly unique concept: a rose wine with strong identity, unique flavour, in an innovative original bottle.
Initially inspired by the canteens used by the soldiers in World War I, the bottle was shaped with the intention to stand out from a crows of tall bottles. The label, elegant and innovative, was an ode to the great Portuguese past. The iconic bottle contained something completely different: a new style of wine, pink in colour, refreshingly light, slightly sweet and “petillant”, easy to drink and suited to the palates of younger generations.
A fresh and slightly sparkling rose wine, with an appealing and bright hue. Seductive with elegant and at the same time intense aromatic bouquet of red fruits, which is brilliantly complemented by a soft, fizzy finish. Mateus Rosé Tempranillo has an intense pink colour. The nose is fresh and fruity with beautiful strawberry' notes. The sweetness and a spicy candy sense are perfectly balanced through a refreshing acidity. Soft and at the same time intense aftertaste of red fruits' aromas.
